The story of Prophet Yunus is also found in the Bible, where he is called Jonah. He was a Hebrew prophet who was sent by God to the city of Nineveh to warn the inhabitants to repent of their sins. However, the ship was thrown into turmoil by a great storm, and the crew blamed Jonah for the misfortune. They threw him overboard, but he was swallowed by a whale and remained inside for three days and three nights. Eventually, he was thrown up onto the shore, and God instructed him to return to Nineveh and deliver the warning again. This time, the people repented and were spared from destruction.
