The Legend of Siavash: A Persian Prince: According to Persian mythology, Siavash was the son of the legendary king Darius III. He was a wise and just ruler, loved by his people. During the reign of his father, there was a drought that lasted for several years. To alleviate the people's suffering, Siavash went to the sacred lake of Aras and offered a sacrifice. However, the evil sorcerer Zahhak, who wanted to seize the Persian throne, saw this and ordered his demon to transform into a beautiful woman and seduce Siavash. When the enraged king Darius III heard about his son's infidelity, he ordered Siavash to be killed. Siavash was exiled instead, and his tragic end is not recorded in the legend.
