Saamah bint Suhayl bin Amr was a prominent companion of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). She is renowned for her bravery and commitment to Islam during the early Islamic era. She was the only woman to be included among the seven companions who were granted the honor of being called 'the lucky ones' or 'the chosen ones' by the Prophet himself. This group of seven companions were known for their unwavering loyalty and dedication to Islam, even in the face of great adversity. Saamah was also known for her strong faith and her ability to inspire others to remain steadfast in their faith.

Saamah bint Qays was a poetess and a warrior woman of the pre-Islamic Arabian tribes. She was famous for her beauty, as well as her exceptional skills in archery and horsemanship. Saamah's most famous poem is believed to be the one in which she laments the loss of her beloved, Al-Harith ibn Hisham, who was a chieftain of the rival tribe of Banu Asad. This poem is considered to be one of the greatest works of pre-Islamic Arabic poetry and is still widely studied and appreciated today.
