He was one of the ten companions given the title 'As-Sahabah ar-Raqiqoon' (the Constant Companions) due to their uninterrupted company with the Prophet (PBUH). Raumaan was also known as 'Abu Hurairah Al-Ansari', and was a native of Damascus.
