لَهَب
"Flame"
In the Quran, Lahab refers to the name of an idolater, who was a contemporary of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham). His name means 'the Flame'. He was a father of five sons whom he used to worship idols. One day, he saw Prophet Ibrahim destroying his idols. Lahab and his sons then went to Ibrahim and taunted him for his actions. Ibrahim replied to them with the wisdom of monotheism. Lahab and his sons were so infuriated by Ibrahim's words that they threw him into a fire. But Allah Almighty saved Ibrahim, and Lahab and his sons were consumed by the fire instead. This story is a reminder of the power and might of Allah.
