Phanish

The name Phanish is derived from the Sanskrit word "Panch" which means 'five' and "Nish": 'direction'. In Hinduism, there are five primary directions: North, South, East, West, and Upward (Sky) and Downward (Earth). Phanish is often considered the God or Lord of the Northern direction. In some traditional Hindu texts, it is believed that the sun rises in the East and sets in the West but the real light of spiritual knowledge originates from the North. Therefore, Phanish is often invoked or revered as the guardian of the gateway to the spiritual world.
