In Hinduism, the number five represents the five basic elements of nature - Earth, Water, Air, Fire, and Space. Devi Panchamatrika, a form of Goddess Durga, is worshipped as the embodiment of these five elements. In various Hindu rituals and ceremonies, the number five holds great significance. For instance, when performing the sacred thread ceremony (Upanayana Samskara), five threads are worn around the chest and left arm. Similarly, the ‘Panchanga’ is a Hindu calendar that provides the astrological information for each day of a month, with five distinct parameters - tithi (lunar day), vaar (day of the week), rashi (sun sign), tithi paksha (fortnight), and nakshatra (lunar mansion).

The name "Panchu" carries deep spiritual significance. It is believed that every human being is a microcosm of the universe and that the five elements - Earth, Water, Air, Fire, and Space, coexist in our body.
