Kaptan

The name Kaptan is rooted in Indian culture, originating from the Sanskrit word 'Kapata' which signifies a door or gate. In Hindu mythology, the title Kaptan is given to various deities and celestial beings. Krishna is called Kaptaan because he protects and guides his devotees like a captain safeguarding his ship. Lord Krishna's charioteer Arjuna is addressed as the divine Kaptaan as he steers the divine chariot guided by Lord Krishna. Likewise, Hanuman, the faithful devotee of Lord Rama, is referred to as the Kaptaan of Lanka as he successfully conquered and governed the city on Lord Rama's behalf.
