Elumalai Nadar, also known as Elumalai Chidambaram Pillai, was a Hindu freedom fighter from Tamil Nadu, India. He was born in 1846 in a village near Karaikudi. He was a devout Saivite and became a follower of Ramaswamy Ramalinga Swamy, who established the religion of Sri Ayyappan in South India. Elumalai joined the Sri Ayyappan movement and played a significant role in its development. He led several processions, organized religious festivals, and spread the message of the new religion.
