Basudha, also known as Bashabi, was a Bengali poetess who lived during the late 16th and early 17th centuries. She is believed to have been born in the village of Basu in the greater Nadia region of Bengal, British India. She was a contemporary of the famous Bengali poet Chandidas. Her poems are characterized by their deep emotional intensity and their exploration of themes such as love, longing, and the passing of time.

Basudha was also a prominent figure in the Bhakti movement in Bengal, which emphasized the importance of individual experience of the divine.
