Akkikuttan, also known as Akki Thamburan or Akkam Thamburan, was a 16th-century Namboodiri Brahmin from Kerala who was a poet, philosopher, and scholar. He was a disciple of Melpattur Narayana Bhattathiri, the author of the famous Hindu text, 'Narayaneeyam'. Akki contributed significantly to the Malayalam language by writing commentaries and essays on various Hindu philosophical and literary texts.

Akki was a patron of the sage Vyasa, who was composing the great Hindu epic, the Mahabharata. Akki provided Vyasa with a dwelling, food, and other requirements during the composition of the epic.
