From the Hebrew ‘Yehoyakim’, meaning ‘God will establish’. In the Bible, Jehoiakim was the son of Josiah, who reigned over Judah. He was a wicked king who ruled for eleven years, during which time Jerusalem was sacked by the Babylonians.
