Dolores

From the Spanish word 'dolor' meaning pain, sorrow. In Christianity, the name Dolores is given to the Virgin of Sorrows, a title for the Virgin Mary. In the Bible, Dolores is mentioned in the Canticle of Canticles 2:5, which reads: ‘Dolores dolorum, fugitiva, heu, quam velociter fugiat!’ (‘Dolores, dolors fleeting as the wind, how swiftly they pass!’)
