Vladimira of Kiev, also known as Saint Vladimira, was the sister of Prince Vladimir of Kiev, who is renowned for his religious conversion of the Rus' to Christianity in 988 AD. Vladimira was the wife of Prince Sviatoslav of Polotsk, who embraced Christianity in 989 AD. She is venerated as a patron saint of mothers and is believed to have played a significant role in the spread of Christianity in the region.

Vladimira of Galicia-Volhynia, also known as Hedwig, was the first Christian queen of Poland, ruling as regent for her underage son, Władysław Łokietek, from 1323 to 1339. She was the daughter of Prince Leo of Rutenia and was married to Casimir III the Great, King of Poland, in 1325. Her influence on her husband and her role in the politics of the time helped strengthen the position of the Polish monarchy during the period of the early 14th century.
