According to legend, Blaženka was the daughter of a Croatian nobleman who lived in the 11th century. She was renowned for her beauty and piety, and was often sought after by suitors. However, she vowed to remain a virgin and dedicate her life to God. One day, while she was praying in a forest, a group of hunters mistook her for a deer and shot an arrow at her. The arrow pierced her heart, but she did not die. Instead, she was taken to a nearby monastery, where she eventually died from her wounds. She was later canonized and became known as Saint Blaženka.

Another account of Blaženka comes from the 15th century in Dalmatia. This Blaženka was a Franciscan tertiary, known for her miraculous abilities to heal the sick and perform other wonders. She lived in the town of Trogir and was particularly revered by the local fishermen, who believed that she had protected them from a storm at sea. Blaženka's cult continued to grow, and she was eventually canonized in the 18th century.
